  I am a father, husband, and a disabled veteran with over 20 years of service so I know something about loyalty and respect. It has become apparent to me that this business no longer respects all of its customers, values their loyalty, or appreciates their patronage. My family of four has collectively and faithfully used the services of this local company for over 10 years. I have watched this company grow and expand and was proud on some level to participate in that growth and expansion. Now I know that in any relationship that spans more than a decade there are going to be problems. We have only experienced two such problems worth noting. The first was handled swiftly, professionally and fairly, through the communication and coordination between me, my community store’s manager and one of the owners, Scott. That store has since closed but my family and I continued to drive out of our way, past at least three other cleaners to continue our patronage with Courtesy. Unfortunately, the most recent incident was not resolved in the same manner. This time all my communication was directed to owner, Kelly. My interaction with her began on a good note but she quickly turned condescending, disrespectful, and rude. My initial complaint was that two pair of black jeans I had put in for dry cleaning only had been laundered instead and of course they faded to gray. After she had the opportunity to inspect the items, a few days later, her response was I don’t know how this could have happened. So I explained that since this was not the first time I had dry cleaned these jeans through this business with success that they had to have been washed this time to come out like this, even though my instructions were dry clean only and it said so on my receipts and in the computer system. So after much back and forth, she stated that they must follow all care labels because of the new machines they have and legal requirements. No problem so why wasn’t I told that the company would no longer be able to dry clean but only wash my jeans? I told her I was unhappy with this explanation. A day later she called me back and offered a store credit for resolution. This would not work for me because two garments were ruined and I could not replace them with a store credit. So she said the only thing she could do was send the jeans off to the lab to see what they said before she would be able to do anything else. Of course the lab only confirmed what I already knew. If you wash black jeans they are going to fade. So needless to say with this conclusion in hand Kelly no longer cared what happened with the misrepresentation of dry cleaning over washing of my garments. She became very condescending, disrespectful, and dismissive. She said they weren’t going to do anything about my situation and they wouldn’t even refund my original bill for the service. How’s that for loyalty and appreciation. I have since moved on to a new cleaner who has been able dry clean my new black jeans without a problem instead of washing them without my consent. If you are looking for a loyal business to spend your money, this is not the one.
